Winter Wood

Trying to keep warm in Vermont during the winter can be a full time job, especially when you live in a big ole drafty house.... we have two wood stoves, one upstairs and one downstairs, and between the 2 of 'em we keep it pretty decent in here. This year, for the first time in 8 years, I have had to buy some cord-wood, since I wasn't around last year to keep my supply stocked. As much as it pains me to pay money for firewood, it is nice to have a good supply on hand. Yesterday the boys were excited to watch a huge lumber truck pull up and drop about 7 or more cords of logs, which i will now have to buck up, split, haul and stack..... nobody said it was easy playing at woodchuck :)

Michael knows your pain! This year we finally bought a splitter. Its been wonderful. I am spoiled and do nothing but enjoy it all. I do haul wood in when he is gone, and battle the fire a bit. Wood heat is terrific...but can be a huge PAIN.
Nice pics!
